YVC is proud to welcome Mari to the YVC family. Mari has been the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at the University of Redlands since 2004. She came to U of R after two years as the assistant coach at Brigham Young University. In 2006, she led U of R to their best finish in school history by advancing to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen and garnering the program's first and second postseason victories. Mari earned her Bachelor of Science in Sociology from BYU in 2000 and then joined the coaching staff for the Cougars two years later. As the assistant coach, she took on the role of recruiting coordinator and helped implement the current skills and techniques that are taught by the USA National Team. In 2003, she helped the Cougars to a 24-9 record and a second-round appearance in the NCAA tournament.In addition to coaching, Mari taught physical activity courses in volleyball and weight training at BYU. Outside of the college scene, she is involved with USA Volleyball as grassroots director and coach. She also served as head coach for American Fork High School, where she fostered two full-ride scholarship student-athletes, during the 2000 and 2001 seasons. In her free time, Mari enjoys outdoor activities such as wakeboarding, riding motorcycles and spending time with her four dogs.

Jeremiah has been coaching here at YVC for 8 years, and has been serving as president of the club for 2 years. This fall he will assume a new position as Assistant Volleyball Coach for the Women’s team at the University of Redlands. In addition to his years here at YVC, he has coached very successfully at the Varsity level at Calvary Chapel HS for 6 years. His teams have won league championships and have advanced in the CIF playoffs to both the quarter and semi-final rounds. In 2001 he was honored to be named Coach of the Year by the coaches that his teams competed against in league. He has led many players through the process of turning volleyball talent into college scholarships. One of his greatest joys in the sport has come from watching his players compete at the high school level, move on to succeed in college both athletically and academically, and then continue to share their passion for the game as volleyball coaches! Before starting his coaching career, Jeremiah played volleyball in high school and in college at Vanguard University. He also played high school and college basketball and has coached both girls and boys Varsity basketball.  Jeremiah has a bachelor’s degree in History and a teaching credential and he currently teaches 4th Grade at Inland Leaders Charter School in Yucaipa. His hobbies include running, surfing and playing volleyball.

All coaches at Yucaipa Volleyball Club have undergone IMPACT Certification Training through USA Volleyball in addition to their years of coaching experience. YVC believes that nothing is more important than providing our player with the highest quality coaching at every level. Our coaches train extensively with Coach Mari, our director of program and player development, and work with her throughout the season to ensure that every player grows to meet their goals in the sport.

We are excited to have Amanda back to coach this season. This will be Amanda’s 6th season coaching for YVC. Amanda played 4 years of Varsity volleyball at Calvary Chapel High School and 4 years of Club volleyball. After high school, she played very successfully for 4 years at Christian Heritage College. In addition to coaching here at YVC, Amanda has years of coaching experience in middle school volleyball in San Diego.

We are proud to welcome Jackie to our coaching staff this year. Jackie is playing in her first season under coach Mari Winter at the University of Redlands where she is studying English. She graduated from St. Joseph High School where she played 4 years of Varsity volleyball. She also played club for 7 years at Seal Beach Volleyball Club. In addition to coaching, Jackie enjoys reading and being with friends.

YVC is proud to introduce Samantha Dodson as our Junior Club Team coach. Samantha currently plays volleyball at the University of Redlands, and she is an assistant coach for our 18’s Club team under Director Jeremiah Head. As a highly skilled and expertly trained player under Coach Mari Winter, Samantha has a wealth of volleyball knowledge to share with our players. She very successfully coached our Junior Club Team last season and her players saw tremendous growth in the sport of volleyball. Her positive coaching style builds players up and gives young players the confidence they need to compete. We have been proud to watch her young players transition into experienced players with strong fundamentals who love the sport of volleyball.

Kyleigh is also joining our staff this year fresh off her first year playing volleyball at San Bernardino Valley College where she is studying nursing. Before college, Kyleigh played for 3 years at Yucaipa High School and 4 years of club. Most recently, she played under Coach Jeremiah Head on our 18-1’s team. In addition to her years of playing, Kyleigh has coached Yucaipa children’s volleyball camps and has led in our Future Stars program. We are proud to have this YVC Alumni as a part of our staff! When not coaching or studying, Kyleigh says that her hobbies are volleyball, volleyball, volleyball, and then more volleyball!

Dana is joining our staff this year fresh off her first year playing volleyball at San Bernardino Valley College where she is studying nursing. Before college, Dana played for 4 years at Yucaipa High School and 3 years of club. Most recently, she played under Coach Jeremiah Head on our 18-1’s team. In addition to her years of playing, Dana has coached in our Future Stars program. We are proud to have this YVC Alumni as a part of our staff! In her free time, Dana likes to play volleyball and to hang out with her friends and family.

We are excited to have Kim back for her 2nd season with YVC. Kim started her playing career under coach Jeremiah Head when he coached her in HS at Calvary Chapel High School Redlands. She played varsity for 4 years and club volleyball here at YVC. After high school she began coaching right away at  Packinghouse Christian Academy. There she coached both volleyball and softball. She is currently the JV Volleyball coach at Arrowhead Christian Academy.
