Kayla has been coaching here at YVC for 5 years. We are glad to have her returning this year for her 6th season. Kayla is an asset to our club as a coach, and she is our resident setting expert. She played 4 years of varsity volleyball as well as club volleyball. After high school, she went on to play very successfully at the college level. Kayla was MVP of her team in her Freshman year at La Sierra University and she led the entire league in assists. She is currently studying in an OTA program to be an occupational therapist. In her free time, Kayla enjoys ceramics, knitting, skiing and hiking.

“Train like you’re in second. Play like you’re in first”

“100% Effort
100% of the Time!”

This year is Gary’s 8th season coaching with YVC. In addition to coaching, Gary served as YVC president for three years. He has played volleyball throughout most of his life, and has successfully navigated his own daughters through the process of turning their volleyball talent into college scholarships. His experience has helped many of our YVC alumni do the same. Gary is the administrator of the most awesome Nursing and Rehabilitation center in Redlands. His hobbies are trying to surf, playing volleyball and seeking God to save marriages.

“100% is not good enough”

We are proud to have Caitlyn join us at YVC this year. After a season of assistant coaching our 14’s team and coaching in our junior program, Caitlin will be taking on a team of her own. She comes to us with extensive volleyball training and playing experience. Caitlyn played club volleyball for seven years, a few of them here at Yucaipa Volleyball Club. She played Freshman, JV, and two years of Varsity Volleyball at Yucaipa High School where she was honored with a Coaches Award and was named Most Inspirational player. She earned a volleyball scholarship to play at Pacific University where she was the star freshman. Unfortunately, a knee injury ended her college playing career, but it did not diminish her love for the sport and her heart for teaching all that she knows about the game. Caitlyn currently works at Redlands Community Hospital as a Histotech and her hobbies include reading, hanging out with her husband an he dogs, playing volleyball, and playing Beatles Rockband.

“Inspirational coaching
